I'm soo skeptical of all men. Thinking they are either just looking for a fling/fwb, or something else that isnt a life long partner. And the last two men i went on dates with were exactly those types. Even though they said the opposite. I don't get being dishonest and wasting someone's time. Life is short. Even shorter at my age. I just want to feel really and truly loved by a man, once in my life, before i die. That's my fear. Never finding love.

When you realise that when I have set standards and boundaries, might have backfired... I wanted to chase someone away. Since they didn't want to listen to what I was saying. So I tried to show them that this wouldn't work, and have them realise and go, by themselves... I know it is/was toxic on my part to do so too...But what's a girl to do when you struggle with trauma, and you deal with someone who can't take no for an answer, and you just want them to lose interest, but not the person as a friend...

Sounds like a girl I dated for 2 months where things were in my opinion going great then after 8 weeks pulled away. She said she was too busy for me and feeling that she was pulling away I gave her space and did not want to persue her. She still got mad at me for it and ended it. Broke my heart. With some people you can’t always win.

Lack of assertiveness puts me off. As well as being emotionally lazy or hinting. Also, coming on too strong. There is a fine balance and that is just when someone is themselves. No one can love bomb me because ill just run the other way. haha.

My ex bf a month after asking me to be his gf, would talk to me so aggressively and talk at me. If something happened in his life he would shut off for a day to weeks. Also whenever I would cry he wouldn’t comfort me. I had another bf that didn’t feel i deserved any comfort. Some people are weird. Now first bf is an ex and is an avoidant so won’t talk about a situation. He definitely wasn’t able to express his feelings. As time goes on I know I have dodged a bullet lol.

All those signs are true he is gonna cheat. My ex did all the stuff you talked about. He told me a good year before I caught him that he was unhappy. But the reason I ignored it and didn't care was because I wasn't happy with him either. It was a comfortable relationship to me and think was for him too. We would just do our own thing and hardly talk. And guess what, he ended up cheating and I ended it. Was a godsend otherwise we just would of carried on wasting our times in a lacklustre comfortable relationship that felt more like a friendship towards the end.

Yes I've definitely had this before and it was a painful experience.....but I am also greatful in retrospect that I had a relationship with a guy with an avoidance attachment style cause it taught me what I don't want in a relationship in the future, Lesson learnt.
